Catarina W. Trissel Obituary (1944 - 2013)

Catarina W. Trissel, 68 Harrisonburg Catarina Winter Trissel, 68, Harrisonburg died April 17, 2013 at the University of Virginia Hospital. Mrs. Trissel was born on November 30, 1944 in Curitiba Parana, Brazil and was the daughter of the late John and Anna Friesen Winter. She was an active member of the Harrisonburg Mennonite Church where she taught Sunday School and participated in the Bible Study Fellowship. She was a member of the Gideon International Auxiliary. Mrs. Trissel was a passionate reader, loved to garden and provided childcare in her home to many children for over 40 years. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was known for her homemade breads and jellies. She was happiest when providing care, comfort, and love to others and laughed easily and heartily. On July 24, 1971, she married Larry D. Trissel who survives. Also surviving are three children, Anita Trissel Lunsford and husband Greg, Miami; Jonathan Lantz-Trissel and wife Heidi; Derik Trissel and wife Laura all of Harrisonburg; brothers and sisters, Edward Winter, John Winter, Ani Rempel and Ushi Epp all of Brazil, grandchildren, Greyson Lunsford, Magdalena Lantz-Trissel and Jesse Lantz-Trissel and baby "Ricky" Trissel who will arrive in the late summer. Pastors Craig Maven and Beryl Jantzi will conduct a memorial service Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 4p.m. at the Harrisonburg Mennonite Church. A time of fellowship will be held on site after the memorial service. Burial will be private at Weavers Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 p.m. until 8p.m. at the Harrisonburg Mennonite Church.
