Carter H. Carr Sr. Obituary (1939

Carter Harrison Carr Sr., 79, a resident of Harrisonburg passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019 at his home. Mr. Carr was born on July 23, 1939 in Rockingham County and was the son of the late Phillip Irvin and Goldie Mae Kirkpatrick Carr. He was employed by Smith's Transfer for 15 years, PIE for 18 years and ABF for 10 Years as a truck driver. He was a member of the Amvets, VFW Auxiliary and the Eagles. On July 8, 1957 he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Carr who passed away on January 20, 2012. Surviving are his children, Myrna Gayle Johnson, Brenda Joyce Farrow, Carter Harrison Carr Jr., Lenwood Clinton Carr; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Carr was preceded in death by his siblings, Clint Ray Carr, Ernest Carr, Stanley Carr, Ruth Norton, Velma Payne, Mamie McDorman, Harry Lee Carr, Wayne Carr, and Norman Carr. Pastor Cindy Carr will conduct a funeral service on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the McMullen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Gospel Hill Cemetery.
