Carolyn Brunk Cubbage

Carolyn Jean Brunk Cubbage, 68, a resident of Broadway, passed away on October 28, 2026 at Skyview Springs Rehab and Nursing Center.

Mrs. Cubbage was born on October 5, 1958 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital and was the daughter of Helen Moomaw Brunk and the late Ronald Brunk Sr.

Carolyn was married to the love of her life, Franklin “Smokey” Cubbage who preceded her in death. Those who loved her believe she passed away from a broken heart, longing to be with her beloved Smokey.

She is survived by her mother, Helen Moomaw Brunk of Broadway; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and father, Carolyn was preceded in death by her sister, Darlene Runion; and her brother, Ronnie Brunk Jr.

Following cremation, Willie Hottinger will conduct a memorial service on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at McMullen Funeral Home at 2 p.m.

Carolyn’s Memory will live on in all who knew her.
