Bernice A. Dove, 90

Bernice Arlene Dove, 90, a resident of Hinton, went to be with the Lord on March 10, 2014 at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
Mrs. Dove was born on December 26, 1923 and was raised in the Briery Brach Community. She was the daughter of the late Charles William and Mary Huffman Hummel. She was a traditional homemaker and loving mother. She was a member of the Mt. Bethel Church of the Brethren where she served as deaconess.
On February 8, 1941she married the love of her life, Charley Warren Dove who preceded her in death on October 28, 2000.
Surviving are four sons, Jerry W. Dove and wife Zella of Churchville; Larry E. Dove and wife Judith of Texas; Kenneth W. Dove of Charlottesville; Johnny Dove of Hinton; twelve grandchildren, Kim Dove-Smith, Jerry Wayne Dove, Jr., Jeanne Dove-Taylor, Chris J. Dove, Julie Dove-Greene, David Dove, Karen Dove Richardson, Jeremy Dove, Vickie dove Mallicott, Aaron Dove, Jennifer Dove Coppola, Nicky Dove; twenty-four great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Dove was preceded in death by two sisters, Nina Clinedinst, Loda Cook and four brothers, Dale Hummel, Harold Hummel, Garland Hummel, and Fravel Hummel.
Reverend William "Bill" Garber will conduct a funeral service on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Bethel Church of the Brethren. Burial will follow at Briery Branch Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening at McMullen Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
