Beatrice C. Lawson

Beatrice K. Lawson, 90 Beatrice Katherine Lawson, 90, a resident of Harrisonburg, died Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at her home. Mrs. Lawson was born on September 23, 1920 in Mt. Crawford and was the daughter of the late John Ashby and Cornelia Florence Morris Anderson. She was a homemaker, a life long member of the Melrose community, and known as ?Grandma Beatie? to her friends and family. She was a member of the Fellowship United Methodist Church. On July 17, 1940, she married Steward ?Sonny? Lawson who preceded her in death on March 19, 1993. Surviving are three children, Wanda L. Reed and husband Jim of Louisa, Buddy A. Lawson and wife Debbie, of Sterling, Tommy L. Lawson and wife Betty of Madison; three sisters, Lulu Heatwole of Harrisonburg, Dorothy Fulk of Keezletown, Juanita Sheffer of Penn Laird; twelve grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna J. Totherow, a sister, Virginia Anderson and a brother, Nelson Anderson. Reverend David Burrough will conduct a graveside service on Saturday afternoon, at 2:00 p.m. at the Fellowship Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 until 7 p.m. at McMullen Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
