Amos Henry Witmer Obituary (1933

Amos Henry Witmer, 84, of Mt. Crawford, passed away on Thursday May 3, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Witmer was born on July 25, 1933 in Rockingham County and was a son of the late Merle Martin and Annie Catherine (Rhodes) Witmer. Amos was a poultry farmer and was a member of the Pike Mennonite Church. On October 22, 1958 he married the former Wilda Grace Knicely who survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Witmer is survived by his children, Emily Witmer of Mt. Crawford, Betty Kinsinger of Waynesboro, Michael Witmer of Mt. Crawford, Janice Orebaugh and husband Everette of Mt. Sidney, Clyde Witmer and wife Lorraine of Monterey, Kathy Rau and husband Brian of Weyers Cave; one brother, Jacob Witmer and wife Emma of New Holland, PA; twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by seven siblings, Walter Witmer, Daniel Witmer, Elsie Nason, Martha Lehman, Harry Witmer, an infant brother, and Carl Witmer. The ministers of Pike Mennonite Church will conduct the funeral on Sunday May 6, 2018 at 2 PM at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 5 until 8 PM at the Pike Mennonite Church.
