Alvin J. Kiser Obituary (1918 - 2011)

Alvin J. Kiser, 93 Alvin Jacob Kiser, 93, a resident of Hinton died Wednesday, May 25, 2011. Mr. Kiser was born on February 15, 1918 in LaJunta, Colorado and was the son of the late Jacob D. and Sally Shank Kiser. He was a farmer and a member of Mt. Clinton Mennonite Church. On January 10, 1945, he married the former Lillian Wenger who preceded him in death on February 22, 2009. Surviving is a son, Lyle Kiser and wife Diana of Hinton, a sister, Grace Eshelman of Georgia, grandchildren, Brad Kiser and wife Melanie, of Bridgewater, Matt Kiser and wife Shelley of Hinton, five great-grandchildren, Brandon, Michael, Madison, Caleb and Trent Kiser. Mr. Kiser was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. Pastor Lee Martin will conduct a memorial service on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mount Clinton Mennonite Church. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at McMullen Funeral Home on Friday Evening from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friends may also call at the home of Lyle and Diana, at 168 Heatwole Road, Harrisonburg at anytime.
