Alvin B. Dove, 74

Alvin Brown Dove, 74, a resident of Harrisonburg, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at his home.
Mr. Dove was born on June 1, 1941 in Criders, Virginia and was the son of the late William Casper and Lillie Esther Wittig Dove. He served in the United States Army. He pastored the Independent Community Church for 14 years and was a current member. His true calling was in missionary work having served in countries such as Russia, China, South America and the Middle East as well as Evangelical work in various hospitals.
On March 25, 1994, he married Larisa Dove who survives.
Also surviving is step-son, Elijah Andrievich and fiance Rula; a brother, Melvin F. Dove and a sister, Gladys M. Nesselrodt.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy J. Dove, Claude L. Dove and Wade J. Dove.
Pastor Richard DeLawder will conduct a graveside service at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens on Monday morning at 10 a.m.
There will be no visitation or formal viewing and the casket will remain closed.
