Allen Pete Mitchell Obituary (1938 - 2011)

Allen ?Pete? Mitchell, 72 Harrisonburg Allen Junior ?Pete? Mitchell, 72, Harrisonburg died January 2, 2011 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Mitchell was born on June 21, 1938, in Fort Seybert, West Virginia and was the son of the late Russell and Myrtle Kile Mitchell. He worked for Ethan Allen Furniture in Bridgewater for 30 years until his retirement. He was member of the Victory Baptist Church. In October 1958, he married the former Mildred Louise Shoemaker who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Charles A. Mitchell, Harrisonburg; Terry W. Mitchell and wife Melissa, Bridgewater; one brother, Dorman Mitchell, Linville; one sister, Ruby Stallings, Timberville; three grandchildren, Brandon Mitchell, Ryan Mitchell and Jordyn Mitchell. He was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Huffman. Pastors Jeremiah Reamer and Bruce Murray will conduct a funeral service Thursday afternoon, January 6, 2011 at 2p.m. at the McMullen Funeral Home Harrisonburg. Burial will follow at Cedar Run Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
